A new generation of fundraising pioneers have come together to make an enthralling difference in the world of healthcare. They created the Wonder Race six years ago, and it has netted over $250,000 in its first five years. The 6th edition will take place on Friday, June 19, 2020, in downtown Montreal. The revenue generated from this event will be directed towards Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada, to positively impact the lives of young children all over Canada and beyond.
Wonder Race was created with the objective to bring teams of young professionals together in a competitive environment. During the race, participants will use strategy to compete against one another in a unique race that will test and challenge their physical abilities, intellectual capacities, and general common knowledge.
The race starts with a clue being given at the beginning of the race that will lead the team to their first destination. The team will be required to complete the challenge as soon as possible. On completing the task, the next clue will be given to direct them to their next location. This continues until they have completed all 10 challenges.
By supporting the Wonder Race, you will help Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada, continue to change lives through outstanding medical education, world-class research, and innovative pediatric specialty care. The hospital is a bilingual, short-term, acute care centre in Montreal, providing rehabilitation and elective pediatric orthopaedic healthcare to children from across Canada and around the world.
Generous contributions will be showcased prior to and at the event. Our partners will have the opportunity to meet our influential guests directly at the awards ceremony, followed by the race. There will be media coverage before and at the event. The happenings of the events will be featured in all major English and French newspapers in Montreal. Participants can directly register their team of four on the Wonder Race website at: www.wonderracemtl.ca. Teams are required to raise a minimum amount of $1,500. After the registration, a t-shirt will be given to each team member and each team will receive a “get started kit” at the event. Spaces are limited, and we can accommodate a maximum of 50 teams. Registration for the event begins at 11:30 AM and shotgun at 1:00 PM. The event concludes at around 5:00 PM followed by cocktails and the awards ceremony.
